South American Bloodstock Sales

Pedigree Dynamics has developed a strong and reliable network of connections throughout South America.

Over the past two seasons, Pedigree Dynamics has selected, negotiated and imported several top class broodmares and racehorses, with several more exciting acquisitions in the pipeline.

With the globalisation of the Thoroughbred, it is our belief that South American Thoroughbreds are ideal for Australian conditions. The prevalence of turf racing, the similarity of the coastal climate and same-hemisphere conditions imbues their bloodstock with the same toughness essential for racehorse success in Australia.

On a fact finding trip with Pedigree Dynamics to Chile and Argentina, top Sydney trainer Tim Martin commented that, "The horses here are terrific, tough types and I'm hoping that in the near future, I'll have the opportunity to train some South American racehorses at home."

In very recent times, South American bred horses have made global news. In 2010, Brazilian horse Gloria de Campeao made all the running to win the world's richest race, the US$10 million World Cup.

On January 18, Imperialista (Brz) won the Group 3 Al Maktoum Challenge at the opening fixture of the Dubai International Racing carnival.

Invasor (Arg) topped the 2006 World Thoroughbred Rankings as well as winning the Eclipse Awards U.S. Horse of the Year.

In 2005, Leroisdesanimaux (Brz) was named U.S. Turf Miler of the Year.

In 2004, Pico Central (Brz) was second highest rated USA Sprinter.

Chile's Leading Sire for 6 consecutive seasons, Hussonet, was imported to Australia by Arrowfield Stud and (at time of writing) is currently the Leading Australian First Crop Sire.

South American acquisitions for clients in recent times include Group One winning broodmares in foal to Southern Halo; a broodmare in foal to Leroidesanimaux, two Group One winning racehorses, mares by Candy Stripes (sire of Invasor and Leroisdesanimaux) and mares which have already produced Group winners by Hussonet or are closely related to Group One winners by Hussonet.
